On her first attempt to join the Navy she was not successful and rather than be told to apply again in a year's time she was told not to re-apply again ever. But 36 year old Lt (Q) Gloria Ademokun as she is now was not ready to take “No” for an answer. She joined the reserves at HMS Wildfire where she excelled and went on to be double rewarded for being the best sailor in her unit and for her services in Iraq for which she received the much coveted Herbert Lott Naval Trust Award.
