Facing My God, Eye to Eye

I first want to give all the glory to our Heavenly Father who shed His blood for our salvation so we could fellowship with Him and each other. Praise His Holy Name.

I want to thank all of you for your faithfulness in prayer… it definitely works and it is still working. Thank You.

Are you aware that distance doesn't stop our God? There are 5278 miles (8494 km) from Phoenix, AZ, USA to London, England and it costs approximately $1,081 for a one-way, nonstop airline ticket. Looking at those numbers overwhelms me and shows how powerful our God is. God heard your prayers no matter the distance and He answered them… FREE OF CHARGE. No airfare! No taxes! Our God is so wonderful.

I went into the hospital's emergency room on August 16, 2005 because I was experiencing pain in my abdomen. All the medication I had at home couldn't control the pain so I decided it was time to find out what was going on. Emergency admitted me into the hospital saying something was wrong with my female parts.

I was in the hospital for one week (receiving morphine for pain) going through all kinds of test and biopsies. They weren't real sure what was going on but decided I needed a hysterectomy. There was something under my uterus and the doctors thought it might be cancer even though the biopsies said no.

I was moved to another hospital because the very best gynecologist/oncologist was there. On August 23, 2005 I went under the surgical knife for the hysterectomy. My gynecologist told me later that when he opened me up and saw what was under the uterus he said very loudly to the other doctors and nurses, “Oh No! This is not what we came in here for.”

I had an abscess under the uterus caused by a perforated colon (the disease is called Diverticulitis). When they removed the uterus the abscess literally “exploded” sending toxins throughout my whole system and causing hemorrhaging. I went under two more surgeries to try and stop the bleeding. My blood pressure was dropping very quickly and was almost at “nothing”. The doctors had no more answers on how to save my life and had told my family it didn't look good.

I later met an intern who read my case and told me that I was dying and for no medical reason the hemorrhaging stopped and my blood pressure started to rise. He said I was a miracle and doctors had no explanation for what had happened.

I knew what happened. And had the opportunity to testify of God's greatness and goodness to this young intern. The miracle was God! It was God answering so many prayers and God still needing me on this earth for His glory.

Praise His Holy Name!!! God is good to us and good all the time.

Once the bleeding and blood pressure were under control, the medical team put me in an induced coma so I could start the healing process (healing happens when you are asleep). I stayed in this coma for 5 days. I absolutely had no idea what was going on around me.

They had machines attached to me filtering out my system and blood of all the toxins. I was given great amounts of steroids to control my breathing. (The steroids caused sugar diabetes, which could reverse itself since I never had diabetes.) My family was able to visit me and talk to me but would receive no response from me except for maybe a facial expression.

The whole procedure was very hard on my family but because they trust the Lord, the Lord brought them through it all. And each one is stronger now because of it. Praise His Name.

After 5 days in a coma, I began to wake up. At first I wasn't real sure what was reality or what was a dream. So many times dreams and reality were mixed up together. It was strange but as time went by I was able to clarify things better.

I was on my back for 6 weeks and had lost all the muscle tone in my legs. They could no longer hold me up. In fact, my feet felt like 100 lbs. weights and my legs were like noodles.

Because of this I was put in a rest home so I could work with therapist in developing strength in my legs so I could walk again. I spent 10 days working hard on this project.

I missed home so terribly. When Paula would call me all the way from England, I would cry on her shoulder because I was so lonesome and so sick of medical treatment facilities. Paula was such an inspiration for me. God used her for my benefit. Praise God. She got me through some very hard times.

I made it home but the skin died where they cut me for surgery. I had to go into another surgery and have all the dead skin cut out. The wound ended up being 6 inches long, 3.5 inches wide and 2.5 inches deep. It was the most horrible thing I had ever seen and I couldn't even figure out how this was going to heal. Well, your prayers again were answered. In 2.5 weeks, this wound has healed to 3 inches long, 2.8 inches wide and .9 inches deep. The doctors are amazed at how fast things are healing.

I have learned so much from God. They are two things that I have heard since I was a child but during this ordeal, these things are very real to me now. I would like to share them with you….

1. God will never leave us. Never! He will never take us half way and then say, “Well, Son, you are on your own now.” Never! He will stay through the whole journey with us. Hebrews 13:5 NKJV, “…For He Himself has said, ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you.' Even though I was seeing the shadows of death God was with me. He was with me each and every time they operated on me. He was with me when I was in a coma. He was with me when I cried in the rest home because I was so lonesome for home. And He is still with me as I continue to heal. He never left me. NEVER!

2. Power of Prayer. (I Thessalonians 5:17 NKJV) Pray without ceasing. (James 5:16) Confess [your] faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. (Mark 11:24) Therefore I say unto you, What things so ever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive [them], and ye shall have [them]. (Jer. 33:3) Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know. (Mt. 7:7). Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you. (Lk. 11:10). For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. (John 15:7) If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. (Matthew 18:20) For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

Because you were gathered together God was in your midst and when you asked in His name, you received.

While I was in trauma, I had to lean on your faith and prayers for my healing. God gave each of you to me to get me through all I went through. I sincerely thank you and love you for your faithfulness. You helped me face my God eye to eye.
