Virgin Nigeria

On the 28th September 2004 Sir Richard Branson and President Olusegun Obasanjo announced the launch of Virgin Nigeria. 51% of the company is owned by a consortium of private investors and the other 49% is owned by Virgin Atlantic making it the country's first private sector Flag Carrier!

This new 21st century airline made its maiden international flight on Tuesday 28 June 2005 to London Heathrow and promises choice and value to its customers. In addition to its international service, it offers domestic flights to Abuja and Port Harcourt and regional flights, to Accra in Ghana, Johannesburg in South Africa and more recently Douala in Cameroon. All flights depart from Murtala Mohammed and Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airports. The new venture is creating employment for people all over the country as well as a financial opportunity for investors.

In the future Virgin Nigeria plans to fly to other parts of Africa, Asia, the Middle East, Europe and North America, so fasten your seat belts and watch this space!!
