Ayomide Igor

My name is Ayomide Igor, but some of my friends call me AJ. My middle name is Jermaine.  I turned 13 earlier this month. My first published book is a cartoon titled 'No more Procrastination Just Do It!!' The story was inspired by a message from my mum and it is my interpretation of the word procrastination.

I am more of a cartoon artist than a writer.  I started drawing when I was about 3 years old.  From the moment I could hold a pen or pencil, I drew pictures.  I just love to draw.  I am now working on my second book and hope to have a series of inspirational cartoon books for kids.  My mum is helping me to set up a club called Acorn2Oak which is to encourage other children like myself to put their talents to good use, e.g. creative writing, drawing, poetry etc. The club will be open to everyone and formally launched in September. I am very excited about it.  Some of my friends have already shown an interest and we hope that many children from schools all over the UK will join us.

I enjoy reading action comics and going to the movies. I also love listening to music and singing, which sometimes drives my mum up the wall.  My favourite subjects are art and science.  I love travelling and I am learning to speak French, Spanish and Yoruba at the moment.  I also love eating African food, watching documentaries about nature and game shows and taking nature walks as you can see in my picture opposite which was taken on Hampstead Heath.

I would like to become a graphic designer when I grow up.

If anyone is interested in knowing more about Acorn2Oak, please send an e-mail to club.acorn2oak@yahoo.co.uk.  We are in the process of building a
website.

My book is sold at £1.50 + 50p postage on my mum's website, www.itstimetodoit.com.  We are trying to raise money for Acorn2Oak from the
sales, however, we would like to give away 5 free copies to the first 5 people who send us an e-mail requesting for it, quoting Naija Konnections.
