Kid's Stuff

ALL ABOUT ME!!

My name is Funto Fabunmi-Alade and I am 12 years old.

I am a full boarder which means that I stay at school 24/7 including weekends. I only go home in the holidays and one weekend from each half of term. Mum also comes up to visit some weekends and we might go to the town centre or visit friends and relatives who live nearby. Because I am at school all the time I can't have a pet like a cat or dog, but I have two gold-fish called Penelope & William. They are both very talented and can swim backwards!

My favourite hobbies are drama, athletics, singing, dancing and reading. I like the first four hobbies because they all have something to do with moving about & having fun! But reading is different. I like reading because you can learn from books, or just absorb yourself in an exciting or thrilling book. I particularly like fantasy books about far-away lands, and things that cannot happen in real life, for example, the Harry Potter books. I think they are amazing. Sometimes I like to knit. Knitting is not a 'granny' thing; anybody can do it and is also quite fun.

At the moment I am learning French. Soon I will be starting German. I think French is a really cool language and is quite simple to learn. My favourite subject at school is English, simply because it is my best subject and I find it enjoyable to write stories and poems. My least favourite subject is geography because it is a bit difficult and has some really long words! I absolutely adore sports and some times watch sports on TV. My best and favourite sport is athletics because I am good at it. The events I enjoy most are running (short distance & relay) and long jump. I also like football, swimming, badminton, squash and tennis. They are all really active and that's what I like about them.   I have too much energy to just sit around all day!

My favourite food is chicken wings and two of my favourite restaurants are,
a Japanese restaurant called 'Oishi' in Streatham and 'Nandos'.

I live with my mum and I have no brothers or sisters, but I have lots of 1st, 2nd and 3rd cousins to make up for it!

Guess what! Recently in year seven I became the best 75m sprinter in the whole of Berkshire and in the whole of Reading schools. I am now also the second best long jumper in Reading schools.

Here is a poem I came up with after school:

The day is over,
The sky is grey,
I hope tomorrow
Will be as good as today.
The sun shone so brightly,
As it always does,
I know I love life and the world,
Because they give me a buzz.
