Sponsor a Child is a Nigerian charity established in 2003 by Olatoun Williams, coordinator of SAC NG  and Dr. Jide Williams, Asst. Professor of Neurology & Consultant at Harlem Hospital/Columbia University in New York.

Children in Nigeria are now protected by the Child Rights Act 2003 which forms the basis of the charity's Orphanage Aid and Education programmes. The charity is working in close collaboration with other local charities and UNICEF to promote the total development and social inclusion of Nigerian, abandoned, street children and orphans. "We want to focus on IT training, verbal literacy and saleable vocational skills to empower the children for the job market," says Williams. "IT is the new language and without it one's chances on the white collar job market are non-existent."

On 28 July this year, 'Sponsor a Child NG UK' was launched in London providing an opportunity for Nigerians in this part of the world to give something back to the Nigerian community at home. Williams firmly believes that this will provide an opportunity for abandoned, street children and orphans, a valuable asset and resource, to one day assume their rightful place as part of the solution to the problem of our troubled society and economy.

There are currently 9 participating orphanages all over the country namely:
Arrows of God - Lagos, Ijamido Children's home,-Ota, Nigerian Red Cross-Lagos Branch, SOS Children's Village - Isolo, Salvation Army Children's home- Akwa, City of Refuge Orphanage home- Kaduna, Goodwill Orphanage home- Kogi and City Ministries of EMS/ECWA- Jos.
